ARES ELITE SPORTS VISION SERVICES
Since beginning to work with Dr.LaPlaca in the summer of 2019, it has allowed me to add another big asset to my training program. He has taken a lot of time to develop various training methods and exercises to help me be able to track the puck and be able to process things faster.
Being a hockey goalie and being able to see and follow the puck is the biggest thing and since starting with Dr.LaPlaca I have seen great improvement in my overall vision, reaction skills, and cognitive training.
I would recommend Dr.LaPlaca to any other goalie or team that is looking to improve themselves and train something that most people aren’t worried about training, because there is more to sports than just the physical training. I look forward to continuing to work with Dr. LaPlaca as I make the step to Division 1 hockey and potentially into the pro ranks.
Thank you to Dr. LaPlaca for helping me keep my vision and cognitive training up to speed in these trying times. When everything hopefully returns to normal, I'll be right where I was (or better) with tracking the puck and players on the ice."

“Dr LaPlaca has changed the way my son sees the world! Racing is Ryan’s passion, and it seemed that he hit a plateau with his progression in the sport. Ryan was also diagnosed with ADHD, and while entering 4th grade this year, we were told this would be the toughest year yet. After only a few months of Vision Training, the growth of his ability to see and process things has been enormous. Not only has the training helped his reaction time and on track abilities, Ryan has raised his GPA to 3.8! He is now able to focus on his schoolwork and his reading level has risen tremendously. I believe the vision/neurocognitive training, Dr. LaPlaca has developed, is helping us beat ADHD!”

“At the professional level, we are always looking to find areas that can be targeted for improvement. Just as we can fine-tune the body for physical gains that can lead to enhanced performance on the field, similar benefits can be found from fine-tuning the eyes and brain to improve vision and decision making on the field.
Our goalkeepers work weekly on hand-eye coordination, reaction, and cognitive processing exercises within a goalkeeping framework. The integration of technology means that we get quantifiable data that allows us to chart development and tailor development plans for each individual player.
I would recommend Dr. LaPlaca for any team or individual looking to find an edge to help improve their game. Any sport of position that requires swift decision making and visual acuity would benefit from his expertise.”

“Vision characteristics are vital to a baseball players’ success. Dr. LaPlaca’s deep investment in creating ways to bring individual improvement in a team setting has been a vital resource for our position players.
His ability to transmit knowledge in a practical way to the coaches, while incorporating simple, practical, hands-on drills for the players, challenged all of us to train with greater intent.
Our partnership has been fantastic, resulting in better coaching practices.
These practices have led to in-game improvement with the overall vision, as well as the processing of neuro-cognitive decision making quicker reaction movements, and improved pitch recognition.”

As a developing (and aging) racecar driver, I follow an intensive fitness regimen in the fight to remain competitive. In my search for a competitive edge, I sought out auto racing specific fitness training at PitFit Training. However, physical fitness is only part of the equation. In order to maximize my potential, PitFit introduced me to the concept of neurocognitive training and ultimately to Dr. Joe LaPlaca.
Racing, as with many sports, has both physical and mental components — maximum competitiveness is found at the balancing point of the maximal neurocognition and the maximal physical output that you are able to achieve without detracting from either. Working with Joe has helped me move closer to finding that balancing point. He has helped me develop a better connection between my brain and my body and particular has helped me refine and tune the foundation of neurocognitive training which is vision.
He has provided a well balanced and thorough program that helps me improve my vision and reaction times. We have employed a range of training tools from long-established basic eye exercises to state-of-the-art strobe glasses, tablet-based apps, and a VR headset. Having worked with Joe now for about a year,
I am a firm believer of the importance of this sort of training not only for any athlete, but ultimately for anyone looking to maximize their over health. The inputs we need as athletes in order to react in the car, on the field, on the court, or wherever, are primarily obtained through the eyes — this makes vision training imperative for anyone seeking to maximize athletic performance and Dr. Joe LaPlaca has been a critical member of my personal training team.
