I first heard Dr. LaPlaca on the ABCA podcast. I contacted him immediately after the podcast with questions and ways to implement some of those things with our team. He was generous with his time and willing to help.

I have always believed vision is undervalued and low hanging fruit to get proper assessments and improve.  He started working with our team in 2022 and is extremely thorough and professional.  His ability to correlate the  individual assessments with practical knowledge on the field is critical.  Application is everything in sport and he does a great job getting on the coaches level to explain those adjustments or work that needs to be done.

We have led the conference in every major offensive category for the last two years and ranked nationally in many of the same.

Working with Dr. LaPlaca would enhance any teams health and performance!

— Matt Swope (Head Coach University of Maryland Baseball)

Vision characteristics are vital to a baseball player’s success.  Dr. LaPlaca’s deep investment in creating ways to bring individual improvement in a team setting has been a vital resource for our position players.  His ability to transmit knowledge in a practical way to the coaches, while incorporating simple, practical, hands-on drills for the players, challenged all of us to train with greater intent.

— Brian Meyer (Head Coach of the Mighty Mussels - Minnesota Twins Organization)

“At the professional level, we are always looking to find areas that can be targeted for improvement. Just as we can fine-tune the body for physical gains that can lead to enhanced performance on the field, similar benefits can be found in fine-tuning the eyes and brain to improve vision and decision-making on the field.

I would recommend Dr. LaPlaca to any team or individual looking to find an edge to help improve their game. Any sport of position that requires swift decision making and visual acuity would benefit from his expertise.”

— Andy Swift (Goalkeepers Coach for the Indy XI)

Since beginning to work with Dr. LaPlaca in the summer of 2019, it has allowed me to add another big asset to my training program. He has taken a lot of time to develop various training methods and exercises to help me be able to track the puck and be able to process things faster.

Being a hockey goalie and being able to see and follow the puck is the biggest thing and since starting with Dr. LaPlaca I have seen great improvement in my overall vision, reaction skills, and cognitive training. I would recommend Dr. LaPlaca to any other goalie or team that is looking to improve themselves and train in something that most people aren’t worried about training, because there is more to sports than just physical training.

— Noah West (Hockey Goalie for the University of Michigan)

As an athlete that’s always searching for ways to get better, Dr. LaPlaca’s name repeatedly came up and I began working with him in the summer of 2019. Through his program, the skills necessary to my job as a hockey goalie, such as depth perception/reaction time/peripheral tracking/all-around vision cohesion/etc., have all taken measurable leaps and bounds. Furthermore, every session takes place in a laid-back environment where it doesn’t even feel like work, it’s just fun, and there is tangible progress week to week to feel good about. I look forward to continuing to expand my cognitive abilities with Dr. LaPlaca, I’ve seen many people in his field and have not found anyone that comes close to the level of his commitment and knowledge!

— Jon Gillies (NHL Goalie for the Arizona Coyotes)

“Riley has had the incredible opportunity to work with the talented team at Ares Elite Sports Vision and Dr. LaPlaca over the past 3 years, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the results! Prior to beginning her journey with Sports Vision, we had no idea just how much it could improve not only her performance on the court but also her overall cognitive abilities.”

Eric Schellhammer (Father of Riley & Brit Schellhamer)

Dr. LaPlaca has changed the way my son sees the world! Racing is Ryan’s passion and it seemed that he hit a plateau with his progression in the sport. Ryan was also diagnosed with ADHD, and while entering 4th grade this year, we were told this would be the toughest year yet.  After only a few months of Vision Training, the growth of his ability to see and process things has been enormous.

— Todd Miller (Co-Owner of TKG Racing Team, Father of Ryan Miller)

As a high school basketball coach for 40 years, I have seen many training techniques. I have been intrigued and excited to see the results that Ares Elite Sports Vision training has provided my son. His increased reaction time, his eye-hand coordination, and his court vision have been enhanced. I truly believe this is an uncharted avenue that can help to improve an athlete’s overall athletic performance. I would recommend athletes in various sports consider this innovative aspect of training.
